Are we feeling overwhelmed yet?  Are you kidding?  Thanksgiving around the corner and my kids have 4lbs of candy in my pantry!  What to do...heres a few suggestions.&lt;div&gt;First the candy needs to go one way or another.  We have a local dentist who collects the candy and will give $ for every lb someone gives to him.  I also know my daughters preschool collects it for the troops.  Last is the Halloween goblins/fairies  collect what your kids leave outside and replaces it with a small gift that they had wanted.  All very good ideas and it accomplishes the mission.  If anyone has any other suggestions please feel free to comment!&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Ok so now for holidays.  You can handle this too!  We need to plan the menu a little differently this year or you need to make a plan for the day! It's important to eat at regular times throughout the day before attending a special event so you don't go hungry.  Eating small meals/snacks every couple of hours will keep from straying and giving in to that dessert table.  Try using the smallest plate offered to keep your portions controlled.  Try to make healthy choices first.  Fill your plate with fresh vegetables, salad and lean meats.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;You are having dinner at your house.  Perfect, you can do this.  Time to delegate!  Get your family and friends into the holiday spirit by assigning tasks for everyone.  Send your husband to the store with a very specific list, while your kids clean assigned areas of the house.  Ask friends and family to bring desserts, if you feel this may be an irristable area to cheat!&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;Tackle leftovers the same way.  Offer some to your neighbors, co workers,and friends, especially the desserts.  Divide leftovers into small portioned meals and freeze for later when your rushed or out shopping all day. I think around 4pm my house turns into a speedway with all 3 running around my island in the kitchen.  They also beg me for snacks the whole time I am cooking.  I have found that planning ahead works great.&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;div&gt;1.  If I have an evening function or after-school activity, I usually will make a home made pizza.  I can pick up the dough at the bakery and add what I choose.  It cooks in 15-20 mins and I am good.  You can pick up just about any ingredient already chopped and prepped before hand.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;2.  I like to also be prepared for what I am making during the week.  Fish is usually served 2-3/week.  Just line a cookie sheet with tin foil, spray it with Pam, and line up fish.  I then add a few spritz of spray butter, salt, pepper, seasonings, and slices of lemon. I simply broil it in the oven and usually takes 10 min or so depending on the fish.&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;&lt;br /&gt;&lt;/div&gt;&lt;div&gt;3. My favorite shortcut are the new steam bags. We love fresh vegetables with a little butter and garlic. Pop it into the microwave for a few min. I am new to blogging but I love it already.  As soon I figure out how to put everything on here I will good to go!  &lt;div&gt;Welcome everyone I am so happy to be able to share things I have learned and have a opportunity to save my thoughts for future reads.  I am your everyday mom with 3 beautiful girls who just light of my life everyday.  I have a wonderful husband whom I really love, although I don't show it enough.  We have recently started fixing things that are not working in our marriage and family.  One of them is nutrition and health.  Never took it seriously before but have turned that around.  I have been so busy taking care of my husband and girls, I honestly would forget about myself.  I had the attitude "If it ain't broke, don't fix it"  Well we all know that doesn't work because sooner or later it's gonna need fixin.
